Hi! My name is Monica Matos.

Growing up, my parents, teachers, movies and friends that I had to study hard, go to a good school, get a great job and then everything, my happily ever after, would just fall into place.

Sooo, I did just that. I worked really hard in school and begin my fabulous life in New York City. It was like a sitcom - me (a lawyer) living with my best friend (a doctor) in an apartment working our 9-5 jobs, going out to restaurants and clubs and waiting for the rest of our lives to begin!

Sounds great, right? Well, what I did not anticipate was:

• the reality of working long hours and just feeling so tired when I got home

• my student loan debt swallowing up most of my paycheck

• vacations that were a week at most and definitely not relaxing

• the very real stress of wondering how I was going to save for retirement and a house and hopefully one day take way better vacations while the cost of living kept rising

• the major burnout of working in a job I did not like

It felt all the odds were stacked against me.

UNTIL..

I decided enough was enough! I was tired of feeling trapped, powerless, burned out, tired and done with wondering "is this all there is?"

I knew I did not want to spend the rest of my life working a ton of hours making a corporation richer, seeing my co-workers more than my family and friends, and feeing like I was always just getting by.

I wanted financial freedom so I could pay off my student loans, live in a beautiful apartment with outdoor space and city views, take month long vacations to my dream destinations, and eat out without ever having to look at the prices.

I wanted time freedom so that I could make my own schedule with slow, relaxed mornings, workout at the gym in the middle of the day, and visit my family when it was convenient for my (not when my job gave me permission).

Finally, I decided to do something totally different than what I had to gone to school for and trained for. We live in a world now where everything is online and the opportunities to create your own way are limitless.
